I wanted to know if the twisted nerve in my daughter’s eye resolved. No one actually relaxed until the end of the appointment when I said, “you told me exactly what I thought you would. Both of them were uptight and so was the doctor. The other was a well-dressed woman who didn’t say who she was or why she was there. The same day as the shot, we had two extra people in the room in an Ophthalmology appointment. Especially when the lady entered the room and stammered about why she was there. She thought it odd to have a third-party in our neurology appointment earlier in the year. I’ve just acted like its normal teaching hospital protocol, but she’s pretty smart. No, they haven’t come out to tell us but after a couple of complaints, we all of a sudden have mysterious people in all our appointments to “observe.” I’ve kept my mouth shut and haven’t said a word to my daughter. We’ve been under observation at our local hospital for a while. “I’m just here to observe,” the nurse said as my daughter was getting her shot. While it might seem strange to some people who a nurse would have to witness a simple injection, it wasn’t to me.
